Multiple Teams · Snyder commits to Air Force

Fruita Monument GBB standout has made her decision of where she will continue her basketball career next year.  The 6’1″ Senior guard will serve her country and continue playing hoops at the Air Force academy.

After a long two years in the recruiting process that involved visits to Wyoming, Dartmouth, Ohio, and Vermont in the end the best fit for Riley was in her home State of Colorado.  Averaging 19.6 ppg her Junior year and with the size and length D1 programs covet at the wing position, Snyder was the target of dozens of upper level programs, but the pull of a high level education, an improving basketball program, and in state program were just too much to pass up.

FMHS GBB Coach Michael Wells said “We are thrilled for Riley in her decision to serve our country and attend Air Force.”  ” I know it was a long, hard process for her, but I know she is very happy with her decision and looking forward to having a great year.”

The Wildcats open up the 2017-18 campaign Nov. 30 vs. Valor Christian.

Multiple Teams · Tennis Courts Receive Upgrade

Facility improvements continue at Fruita Monument High School with the addition of newly logo’d windscreens.  In a partnership with the City of Fruita and The Locker Room, owned by Girls Basketball Coach Michael Wells, the facilities windscreen received some much needed attention.

City of Fruita

The tennis facility is just the latest in a line of improvements the school’s athletic department and boosters have worked hard to fund.  Recent additions have included the renovation of the gym floor, new baseball scoreboard and windscreen, weight room improvements and the addition of a Hall of Fame project that continues to evolve.

The efforts continue with the addition of a concrete wall and turf for the Lacrosse teams, and plans to finish the Hall of Fame, improvements to the on campus Soccer Field, new padding in the main gym, and discussions for an on-campus pressbox, concession, and restroom facility to serve baseball and soccer.
